Yes John, no ugly council building there. How is it that in all these years we now require a horrific building which has wrecked the area along with a massive amount of staff which in turn has increased taxes.

Contact Ex Councillor Colin Grantham and ask him why the Tory group made the decision to build it when Tameside was formed.

Is he responsible for building Tameside's massively bloated bureaucracy? 57 Councillors for just over 200,000 people, a huge, highly paid management team and overmanning all leading to constant Council Tax increases and worse services. Find a single, genuinely independent person, who doesn't think TMBC's performance in the recent bad weather was appalling.

We did an excellent job just had the usual moaning suspects, if we were shitting gold bricks for them they would moan they were the wrong shape.
If you go out later let me know I will bring round an umbrella for you its raining.

Instead of you saying it get your mates at the Advertiser to poll the Tameside public and we'll find out if everyone thinks the Council did an 'excellent job'. No matter what the result though they'll still be a load of 'moaners' who demand Labour confront their most hated word...accountability.

Anyone know what stood on the site where the council offices are? I wasn't born until 1978 and looking at the picture i'm curious about what lay behind the town hall.
