I remember the end of Gorse Hall.
I was about 10 1960, I think, a bunch of us were always looking for fresh adventures and we had heard of this alluringly sounding swimming hole known as "The Blue Lagoon".
Off we trekked to take a look at our exotic goal. We found it but our attentions were directed at the (to us) spectacular demolition of the remains of a country house we didn't know existed.
After a few hours all that was left was a very small patch of black and white chequer stone floor tiles still firmly in situ, probably part of the kitchen or the lobby.
The Blue Lagoon did not live up to its name, expecting Palm Trees and golden sands next to an Azure sea - we got a greyish liquid that had filled a quarry working and had a couple of abandoned motor vehicles as speciality features.
I got to know a lot of the Gorse Hall acreage very well, some interesting features of times past were always being found.
Great Day - Happy Memories.
