bnp will not win any seats in council elections in Tameside or any other area, %Vote will be down all over , Labour campaigns especially in Tameside have seen them off , EDL taken over now .

The average thick Tamesider doesn't know the first thing about politics anyway. Labour just happen to be the loudest political mouth in the country who oppose a white English middle class interest group called the Conservative Party. Hardly a boasting point that such gives you such a huge advantage in winning over the support of a population of feather brained lemmings. And having a pro-zionist Jewish leader might just turn off some of that islamic support Labour relies on.

But John you see the BNP as a real threat and you no it, seems she doing a great job, look at this artical http://www.bnp.org.uk/news/regional/tameside-bnp-lead-new-initiative

Try knocking on a few doors and defending your views ,you got nothing in Ashton and Hyde on Saturday you are scared of door knocking and identifying who you are in Tameside

Haha is that what you think? what happened to the Labour Party in Manchester last Saturday at the anti bedroom tax protest? they got kicked out of the area, so yes you try defending your views and identifying your selfs.

Labour against the Bedroom tax but they are the ones who will evict you if you dont pay it...... joke that isnt it.

The odd national leaflet on seals and 4 people in town Sqs no canvassing will get you what you deserve, you dont have the balls to door knock ,and you wont be standing in Dukinfield again.

I think there was more than 4 people, yes we hit the town centre, but through the week we hit the door's the seal leaflet was one of many we had, but listen, Labour Manchester city centre getting the boot was funny, what you saying about that then?

Look Taylor, nobody is obliged to do ANY door knocking to stand for election, and I'm not in the BNP. I didn't recall local reds like yourself trudging the streets much until the you felt your positions being threatened. The BNP did knock on doors in Tameside because they came to our door twice in 2009. That is not to say they are under any moral obligation anyway to canvass when the odds of a victory in a Labour stronghold like Tameside are overwhelmingly against them.

It's one thing to cavass purely for the sake of keeping yourself in a reasonably safe seat, but it's something else to commit the same amount of time energy and money to the task when attempting to challenge the status quo. It's all well and good you being smarmy and smug, you took the really safe option of the mainstream route into politics. When you've dabbled in the rough and tumble of fringe politics for the sake of principle rather than expediency then lecture others about poor performance.

In 1999 Metropolitan Police senior officer John Grieve said he would "smash" the BNP and other "racist" organisations.

The BNP was duly targeted and we have seen the results.

You, Cllr Taylor, Tameside Labour, the anti-fascist movement in general were not responsible for the demise of the BNP. It was due to state assets (or possible just one) VERY high up in the party.

In 1991 a former Tameside councillor turned MEP , JOHN GLYN FORD produced a report ( "Report of the Committee of Inquiry on Racism and Xenophobia") in it he named Italian right winger and long time associate of Nick Griffin ROBERTO FIORE as an MI6 source. The report is still available on line.

There are powerful forces behind the BNP demise which I can relate to anyone who asks, but in private.

Thanks for the info Tony I know what part I played and so do others, we are still active but because of the work we did and lets not forget the damage they did to themselves with infighting and putting useless candidates up for election we can and have down scaled our activities,we just keep one eye on them now instead of two.
Tameside Labour are active in Glossop now door knocking not seen any bnp members on the streets ,or team went into Royton for the by-election again we did not see any bnp members out door, we are out in Tameside every week door knocking and leafleting, again we don't see any bnp members doing it.
When you left the bnp Tony in Tameside I knew they would fall apart and they did ,the ones that are left will be used to try and save Griffins seat in Europe because of the money.

You credit me with more authority than I think I had or have Councillor! But thanks anyway.

The Labour party street organisation IS well organised and the postal ballots are well under control, but this was not always the case. The threat posed by the BNP forced this reorganisation and given the poor performance of the other parties this reorganisation has worked wonders for the Labour Party in Tameside.

But will you be able to maintain this enthusiasm in the absence of any good opponents? And is your main target in all this activity the BNP and the Tories or your own critics within the Labour movement and the council? Those who will be affected by job losses and increased council tax and who need to be kept busy to keep their minds off these issues.

It was (is?) an old capitalist tactic to engage in foreign wars to keep people's minds off domestic problems. You admit to engaging in campaigns in Glossop and Royton. To keep their minds off what?

Ask any of my Labour friends they will confirm my comments that the bnp is now finished if David Jones is no longer organising them, must have been like herding cats for you, Davis we have been canvassing for over 30 years in most wards that's why we have remained strong for many many years long before the bnp had its little surge.
