My black bins does not been emmpied for six weeks its still half empty I recycle

Do you leave it uncollected for six weeks in summer as well, it would absolutely stink. But you think three weeks is acceptable for a family of six, at Christmas with all the extra rubbish. Our blue, green and brown bins are full as well, as are all of our neighbours.

Interesting photo. I take it that this gentleman is Former Cetnick and Royal Yugoslavian Army Lt-Colonel Petar Pavasovic.

I am happpy that he avoided capture and execution by the Red terrorist partisans of Tito after the war, but I would comment that your friends in "Searchlight" would be campaigning for his persecution for "war crimes" were he still alive.

Check the link for a very interesting article by Mike Pavasovic (a good writer by the way)

Dont waste so much food try eating it, our bin men are working all over the Christmas holidays and working today to try and remove the extra rubbish, some of my neighbours use my bin when theirs is full we work together, most of us do recycle because we know its right.
We also use the bring sites Christmas when we have extra materials to recycle, good communities find a way round most problems

I haven't wasted any food and don't be so damned rude and arrogant. The 'problem' is a council that takes your council tax but doesn't deliver services. If they've been working all over Christmas why have we been told our black bin won't be collected 'til next week, that will be four weeks. When I want a sermon on 'Green' issues, as opposed to receiving the services I've paid for, I'll ask for one.

JohnWagTaylor said...

We get more bin collections now for the money, the sermons come free of charge just like yours do,call and see your councillor and discuss your bin service let them find out what the problem is,I think its 87,000 bins emptied each week with the odd problem

Wrong, the new system decreased collections by 12%, which is why it was introduced. I KNOW what the problem is, my bin's been left festering for a month, as have many others because the council can't organise round a bit of bad weather and can't afford to pay the extra wages because they've overspent. As my Councillors are all Labour I'll assume they're as offhand and arrogant as you. God help the Borough if you're Deputy Leader, your communication skills are non-existant.

Wrong, more bins are emptied since the introduction of Green, Blue, and Brown bins, there is no overspend, see recent accounts for details.
Managed collection were introduced to increase recycling and to reduce the amount of landfill tax the council pays, and it worked less going into the ground and recycling figure on the up and up.

Jim Nash said...

Wrong, it's 12% less. That's, EU landfill tax, like virtually every other piece of foreign inspired punitive taxation it was introduced because of Labour's grovelling to Europe instead of standing up for the British people. We could have organised our own recycling to suit ourselves, not at the whim of foreigners.
You can't seriously be suggesting TMBC aren't going to be counting every single penny, because the last government has spent the entire country into a corner and local government, and the people in every region, will suffer the consequences for many years to come. Got to go now and spray the bin again, it's rancid. Still, only 8 days to go.

Wrong again, brought in by British Government call in a see the facts, Zoflora does the trick we use every week,Jeyes fluid is a bit stronger and keeps the cats away.

ignore "Jim Nash" its just yet another fake ID (see 192.com). Probably the village idiot, he's always on these blogs with fake names.

No complaints from me re the bin collections, excellent service

JohnWagTaylor said...

Yes I have seen the many false names, thanks for tip off.

Its a fact our bin men worked during the break including bank holidays almost 100% clean up rate just like they do all year round.
Tamesides recycling rates increase every year still got lots to do and we are doing it.
We are also looking at some alternative ways to generate power in Tameside small schemes but its a start, we are clean and green

I worked at Woodmet in the early seventies during as a summer vacation job.

I remember Petar Pavasovic known as 'Pete Pop' but he was a little older than in the photo then, he was a true gentleman. His job seemed mainly to consist of that of trouble shooter for the odd technical problems that arose. A very quiet and reliable man.
I didn't have much contact with Pete Pop as I was given mostly menial tasks that most of the lady workforce performed.
I came into contact with Pete's wife Stella regularly as I often had to deliver or take away the work pieces. Stella was a bright chatty lady who often had a good natter with me, a very nice interesting lady.
I'm not sure if that lady in the photo is Stella, could be, but I remember Stella wearing spectacles.

I think the lady on the left was called Mary Briscoe. The picture was taken in 1960. Stella didn't start at Woodmet until around 1966.

JohnWagTaylor said...

Mary Briscoe was married to Jimmy Briscoe who also worked at Woodmet, they moved to Australia eventually,if you wanted a tray or a Woodmet trolley Jim was your man.

What a lovely thing to read, they were my Grandparents and I'm glad people thought well of them.
