Another right of way denied to the law abiding because you can't sort out the same type of scum who hounded David Askew to his death. Well done Labour!

Not a right of way, all resident requested the scheme now they are already landscaping their own areas its a success.

It was a public right of way before. It's not up to a few residents. Unless they've bought the land they don't own it.

It was all checked out we have to do this before they can get the grant, check out the definitive list it was not a public right of way.
The land was dedicated to the local residents some years ago ownership went back to the old Stalybridge council days.

Does the same apply to all the paths, byways and alleys you've blocked off in the last few years? Thought not. But it's easier than dealing with the yobs and scum who blight the Borough isn't it.

All schemes are generated by residents requesting them the grant is only available for pathways that are not rights of ways.
Public pathways that are rights of way are dealt with via a gating orders we have two in Tameside and about 200 applications for gates awaiting decisions, they are popular call round and ask the residents who have one.

There are loads of alleys that had free public access as throughways that are now blocked because the residents were sick of the scum blighting their lives, that's why they're popular with residents. This big fence and locked gate mentality on behalf of councils nationwide and government solves NOTHING and simply moves the problem elsewfere. The return of proper punishment, including the birch would make virtually all yobs think very carefully before committing their latest crime or antisocial act. There is zero chance of any of the main Parties reintroducing this extremely effective deterrent, so things will continue to deteriorate and the law abiding will have increasingly more of their rights and freedoms curtailed.
