Today we honoured Jimmy Gledhill for his work with Dukinfield Town FC Jimmy played for the town and since his playing days were over hes been a volunteer with the club looking after the ground and the club house .
Jimmy and his family and friends attended a meeting with Tamesides Mayor Joyce Bowerman and her consort Fred ,Cllr Brian Wild presented Jimmy with a class Trophy we will call it to mark the day followed by lunch at Barton Villa .
Many will know Jimmy he still lives in Dukinfield and he is famous for his no nonesence defending in his playing days according to Cllr Wild who became a good local referee Jimmy would not stay on the pitch for many games for the full 90 mins in today's games.
Well done Jimmy an award well deserved .
